From today, April the 6th the RSGB will be conducting online exams for the Foundation Licence only using remote invigilation. This will enable candidates to sit the exam during the current lockdown.

The Nunsfield House Amateur Radio club runs a number of courses aimed at getting you qualified and 'on the air'. They are formal but friendly courses run at the club room.

Please note that the August 2019 foundation course to the  pre 2019 syllabus is now fully booked.  Please see below for details of the next course.
                     
Courses are held at the club HQ located at Nunsfield House, 33 Boulton Lane, Alvaston Derby. DE24 0FD. The Foundation course is usually held at a weekend, the exam taking place on the Sunday afternoon. Please note that one to one sessions are held prior to the course weekends. These form part of the course, and attendance is required.

For anyone who wishes to self study, and then sit the exam, this is not a problem. We can carry out the practical session which is required once the exam has been booked. A minimum number of places for an exam is required however. Please use the contact form for details.

Course Success Rates

It is a pleasure to report that the Foundation licence course organised by the club has been so successful, with a pass rate of 90%.

The success of the courses is in no small measure due to the efforts and enthusiasm of the Instructors Peter Munson, Dave Winfield and Adrian Lawrence.

Dates & times of the next Foundation Course

The date of the next foundation course will be around the end of January/begining of February 2020. If you are interested in the next foundation course, please use the contact details above to inform us. Please note that places are limited, and are on a first come, first served basis.

Cost of the exam is £47.50p. Note that this price is subject to change, should the RSGB increase their exam prices. We charge a small amount in addition to this, in order to cover our overheads. Note also that for anyone sitting the exam, the course is provided free of charge.
